Due to the ongoing health and safety concerns regarding Covid-9, and the speed at which developments are occurring, Bowls Northland has today reached the decision to suspend all bowls. This means all club events and tournaments, all school programmes and all social events for the remainder of the 2019/2020 summer season are cancelled or postponed (postponement date TBC). This all events up to the 31st May 2020. We will make a decision on winter events dependant on the current state of the emergency and after information from government, and Bowls New Zealand.
This decision follows Bowls New Zealand’s update which provided a recommendation:
As of Friday 20th March, Bowls New Zealand strongly recommends that (until further Notice) all bowling clubs throughout the country be closed for all organised bowls Events and activities. https://bowlsnewzealand.co.nz/featured/coronavirus-covid-
Our bowlers must acknowledge that our membership is at the most risk to Covid-19, with an older demographic and many with pre-existing health issues. Please heed the public health recommendations and stay phone connected.
Please note that as from today Tuesday 24th March the Centre will be closed until further notice.
If you have an urgent message or need information in a hurry, you can
contact the me on 0211021996 or by email at email@example.com until the Centre work can be transferred to my home.

Coronavirus / COVID-19 Update
As of Monday 23 March, Bowls New Zealand require ALL bowling clubs to cease ALL activity (until further notice).
New Zealand is at Alert Level 3 and will move to Alert Level 4 within the next 48 hours.
Stay at home people – but stay connected. We ALL need to be vigilant in our response to Covid-19 and the spread into our communities.
We have a number in our bowls community that live alone and/or are isolated from their family and friends due to Covid-19. Please, pick up the phone, connect by email or Facebook – look out for your fellow bowlers.
If you have a question, concern or simply want to have a chat then get in touch with any of the Bowls New Zealand team.
